How to use WhatsApp on PC

WhatsApp, an application that does not needs an introduction. From the day it started, it has gained so much popularity that now WhatsApp has become number one choice for chit- chatting with friends. As per statistics of February 2016, WhatsApp has 1 billion monthly active users. This figure itself tells the success story of WhatsApp. WhatsApp regularly releases its updates; in which they introduce many new cool and exciting features. In one such update, WhatsApp releases a new feature WhatsApp Web.

What is WhatsApp Web?

With the introduction of WhatsApp Web, you can now also use this application on our PC. Yeah, you heard it right. Now you can use this application on your desktop or personal computers. Isn’t it great that now you can view and reply your messages from your computer? This is a good move especially for the users who are using the smartphones with screen size 3 inch or less. WhatsApp Web is a computer based extension of your WhatsApp account that you use on your phone. Now the messages sent/receive are completely synced between your phone and computer. You will receive all your messages whether text, audio or video on both PC and mobile.

Who can use WhatsApp Web?

Unlike WhatsApp, its web version can only be used if you match certain criteria. Presently, WhatsApp Web is available only for Android, iPhone having operating system version 8.1 and above, Windows Phone having operating system version 8.0 and above, Nokia S60, Nokia S40 EVO, BlackBerry and BlackBerry 10 smartphones. Apart from this, you should have active WhatsApp account and internet connection. Also, the PC on which you wish to use it should have the latest version of the browser installed. If you meet all these requirements, then you are ready to use WhatsApp Web.

How to get started with WhatsApp Web

To get started with WhatsApp Web you just need to follow some basic steps:

  1. Type on the browser of your PC, and hit enter.
    Window with QR code.
  2. You will receive a window with QR code.
    Click on WhatsApp Web option.
  3. Now open WhatsApp on your Android device and click on the option WhatsApp Web.

  5. Once the code is scanned WhatsApp will automatically start on your computer.

Now you can chat with your friend, send them images, videos whatever you wish, same as you do with your mobile phones. You can also read the previous chats, download media data directly on your computer. We also suggest you turn on desktop notification while using WhatsApp Web. If the notification is enabled, you will automatically receive a prompt at the lower right corner of your computer screen whenever you receive any new message. Unlike WhatsApp application, you can anytime log out from the WhatsApp Web. However, you can log in anytime again by just scanning that QR code.

The only thing you have to make sure is that the internet connection should remain active on your mobile. Also, it is strongly recommended that your phone should be connected to a Wi-Fi network to avoid data charges.
