So you’ve seen QR codes everywhere, but don’t know how to use/scan them using your Galaxy S4. Here are some simple instructions.
While there are many apps (For example, Goggles, QR Code Scanner and RedLaser Scanner)
out there that can make your Android phone works as a code scanner, QR Droid (Free) is the one that I’m using as an example here.
- Install QR Droid from Google Play.
- Launch the QR Droid app.
- Now, aim the camera lens at the QR code. As soon as you hear the beep sound, means the scanning is done.
- What happens next is dependent on the types of information stored in the QR code. By default, if it’s an URL, it will automatically launch a browser and open the site. If it’s a text, it will do a web search. If it’s contact info, you’ll be prompted to select either to Add the contact or Dial the number.
Note: These default actions can be changed in the QR Droid Settings.
