WhatsApp is a free messaging application which has millions of daily active users. People can send messages, images, videos and many more using this application. The question is, can people read the deleted WhatsApp messages? And if so, how can you read those deleted messages? Here is a simple trick of how to read the deleted messages in WhatsApp.
WhatsApp messenger has a database to store all the messages of the user. So if you want to save and protect your personal data, you just need to backup them. You can either back up your messages using the Google drive or you can do a local back up.
Local Back Up –
You don’t need to take extra effort to do this back up. WhatsApp messenger automatically runs local backups every day at 2 o’clock in the morning. This local backups will save your WhatsApp data base in a file and it will get stored in your mobile phone. If you want to run the local back up manually, you just need to click “Back Up” and all your data will get saved to the file in the phone. So if you accidently delete your messages or if the application got uninstalled, you can recover the deleted messages using this method. Remember, this method will only work for your phone. All the messages are getting stored in a file in your phone so that those messages can be only recovered to your phone.
Google Drive –
If you change your phone and if you want to recover the messages to your new phone, you need to back up the messages to the Google Drive first. You can recover all the deleted or lost messages to the phone if you have backed up them to Google Drive. Here are the steps to back up the messages to Google Drive;
- Go to WhatsApp.
- Select Settings > Chats > Chat Backup.
- Select Back up to Google Drive and select your back up frequency.
- Click Account and choose a Google account to back up the messages. If you don’t have an account, first create an account and the select that account as the backup account.
- Click Back up over and select the network which you wish to use for the backup.
Remember! If you make a new back up to the google drive, the older back up will be overridden with the latest one. So that you won’t be able to restore the previous one by any chance.
You can restore all your messages, images and videos after your backup is successful. WhatsApp will give permission for you to restore the data you already backed up. You just need to tap Restore button after you finished installing WhatsApp.
Local back up will only store data up to the last 7 days and the same with the Google Drive. Google Drive will only save the latest messages. But if you want to restore older messages you can follow these steps;
