But likely are you in business, since probably 80 million people in the world have gotten a new smartphone in the past year-and-a-half.
So you are ready to use lenses for selfies. Here’s how:
Step 1: Get your Snapchat app updated. Visit the app store, hit updates from the bottom right, and presto.
Step 3: Now, go to settings on your snapchat app home screen and turn “filters on.”
Step 3: “Open the latest version of the app and make sure your front facing-camera is active. Now long press the screen on your face to load the lenses. You can scroll horizontally through them and for most you’ll need to follow an instruction for it to work properly such as opening your mouth or raising your eyebrows,” reports PC Advisor.
Step 4: Get your selfie face on. Yes, Snapchat’s new lenses are available only for selfies, so even though they will make you look crazy, it WILL be you and only you looking crazy. So, be prepared to share you in all your splendor.

Lenses
You can make Snaps even more fun by adding real-time special effects and sounds with Lenses! To use Lenses in Snapchat follow the steps below:
- Go to the Camera screen in Snapchat.
- If your rear-facing camera is active, switch to the Selfie camera.
- Press and hold on your face! Lens options will appear below.
- Swipe left to select the Lens you want to use.
- Follow any action prompts that appear, like ‘Raise Your Eyebrows.’
- Tap the capture button to take a Snap, or press and hold on the capture button to record a video.
Other tips:
— You can get replays – yes, replays. For 99 cents, you can purchase three replays if you want to see it over and over again. “You can use a Replay on any Snap you receive, but you can only Replay any Snap once. They’re a little pricey — but time is money! ;)”
–How to use Trophies: Swipe down on the main screen and call up a personal Snapchat code and a new trophy icon comes up on top of it. Tap, and trophies that you have unlocked will be revealed.
–Face the camera head on: “Though Snapchat will be able to capture your face if you try to take a portrait with your head rotated, the lenses work best if you’re facing the camera head on,” reports Bustle.com.
And this: “If it says open your mouth, do so as wide as you can, because that’ll get you the best results. To pick different lenses, move the little faces on the bottom of your screen left and right. Whichever one is highlighted by the large, clear shutter button is the one that will be applied. To snap the pic, just tap the shutter button once,” reports Bustle.com.
So happy Snapchat with your new lenses filters.
