How To Log In With Multiple Skype Accounts At The Same Time
Here’s a neat little trick that will enable you to be logged into multiple Skype accounts at the same time on one computer (Windows only). It’s really easy to do, and it can save you lots of time and trouble if you have more Skype accounts and need them to be all online and available at the same time.
This should be obvious, but before we go through theese 3 easy steps, make sure you have already downloaded and installed Skype on your computer. That’s all you need for this to work. There is no need for any additional programs or tools to be downloaded. Even though there are some additional tools that enable you to run multiple Skype accounts on one computer, we have a better, easier way of accomplishing that. Let’s go over the steps.
1. Run Skype and login with one of your accounts as you would normally do. After you are logged in, don’t close Skype.
2. From Start menu > Run (or press the Windows and R keys on your keyboard at the same time). Or, alternatively, you can type “run” in the search box, and click on the first result of “run” as in the screenshot below. A “run” box should pop up.
3. In this step, we actually run another instance of Skype which will enable you to log in with one of your other accounts while you are still logged in with the account you used in the step one. In other words, this is it. This is what we want to do.
This step requires you to know where you installed Skype. It will depend on whether it is on local disk C, or D, or some other letter, depending on your Windows configuration. Most of the times, it will be local disk C, so what you need to do now is copy-paste one of the following paths exactly as they are (with quotation marks and the slash part) into the “run” form which you just opened in step 2 and click “OK”.
For 32-bit operating systems copy this:
"C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" /secondary
For 64-bit operating systems copy this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" /secondary
If you don’t know if your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit, just try the one for 64-bit first. If you get an error, try copying the other one instead.
The screenshot below is how it should look like. The entire path can’t fit, so it shows a part of it only, it’s not a mistake (“rogram Files”).
After you clicked “OK”, now you should see another instance of Skype popping out, and asking you to log in even though you are already logged in with one of your accounts. This is where you log in with your other account. Log in as you normally do, and voila, now you are logged in with two accounts at the same time, and you’re available on both of them.
As you can see on the screenshot below, I have two instances of Skype running. One where I’m logged in, and another one where I can log in with another account at the same time.
Yes, you can use more than two accounts this way. Dont close the ones you opened, and just repeat the step 3 as many times as you like for as many Skype accounts as you want to be logged into at the same time. Each time it asks you for username and password, you use your different accounts, and that’s how you log in with all of them at the same time all at once and all on one computer.
