On some Samsung Galaxy Tab units there is some problem with Android Market and this makes it difficult to install various applications including Skype. If you want to install Skype on your Samsung Galaxy Tab you may not be able to install it from Android Market and therefore you have to install it without it.
There is one manual method and one program-based method that you can use in order to install Skype on your Samsung Galaxy Tab without having to download it from Android Market. Just search for something like “Skype apk” and you should be able to find a file that you can download and save it on your computer. Once you have downloaded this file, create a separate folder on your Samsung Galaxy Tab (after connecting it to your computer via USB cable). After you have connected the USB cable you will need to “mount” the Samsung Galaxy Tab drive so that it becomes visible on your computer. Save this apk on your Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Then find an icon called “My files”; tap on it and once you can see the listing of various folders tap on the folder where you have saved the Skype apk file. That’s it. Press the name and Skype will be installed on your Samsung Galaxy Tab.
There is another way of installing Skype on your Samsung Galaxy Tab without Android Market and that is by installing Applanet. Just like Android Market Applanet also lets you download and install applications in a couple of clicks. Here you will easily be able to find Skype for your Samsung Galaxy Tab.
